Dear Sir or Madam,
We are working on a research project funded by the European Commission as part of Framework Programme 7, intended to improve the competitiveness of small and medium enterprises (SME) in the field of STEP-NC compliant manufacturing. The aim of the project called STEPMAN, is to create a STEP-NC compliant manufacturing software support application for machining technologies (primary for milling and turning) to respond the global requirement for an interoperable „CAD->CAM->CNC” bidirectional manufacturing platform for SMEs in order to increase their competitiveness. The performance of the application will be tested on milling and turning manufacturing, and we provide the interface of STEPMAN software for further manufacturing technologies. More information on the project and the consortium is available on
Since the main principle of the project is to provide a system that acts on the needs of SMEs, we would appreciate if you could share with us your point of view about current CAD-CAM-CNC production methods at your company and the desired developments.
This survey is a requirement from the European Commission and it helps us make sure that what is developed in the project helps you in your business. So we would really appreciate if you could help us by completing it. We would be delighted to offer the summary of the results after the completion of the survey and for all participants; the executive summary will be available on request. (Please do not forget to check the related box at the end of the questionnaire!)
Thank you for taking the time to answer these questions.
